Overview
Mabamba, a highly significant birding destination in Uganda, is situated 12 kilometers to the west of Entebbe and can be reached by both road and water. Renowned for hosting the prehistoric Shoebill stork, the site offers an 80% chance of spotting this elusive bird. In addition to being a habitat for the Shoebill, Mabamba is home to a diverse range of bird species, including the African Jacana, Black Crake, Black-headed Weavers, Papyrus Gonolek, Violet’s Black Weavers, and more. The captivating presence of over 300 bird species makes Mabamba appealing not only to avid birdwatchers but also to those with a general interest in nature.
